Broken Publications offers a unique and collaborative publishing experience. Through one-on-one work with the author and production of high-quality work, we strive to make each book a wonderful experience in process as well as finished product.
Broken Publications offers a non-exclusive contract with royalty payments of 40% net (profit only) to the author, an increase of 25% compared to traditional publishing houses. Though our marketing and connections are still being established, a team-spirited effort will ensure that everyone wins in the long run.
On a more personal note... there is something truly special about the word, "Broken." There's a certain beauty in something broken, something imperfect. People have to be able to duct-tape and safety-pin themselves back together after they've been broken... and anyone who says they haven't ever been broken is probably lying. The strongest and purest beauty comes after you've dragged yourself out of the ugliest part of your life and filled the cracks with gold (see: Japanese tradition of mending broken porcelain).
We want to bring the beauty of imperfection to surface. There is a certain shimmer within the cracks of life, be it learning, growing up, or growing wiser. This is the shimmer that we want to expose and allow people to appreciate, even if the mask has to be torn in order to accomplish this. It's that small bit of light that needs to shine through the cracks until it grows too bright to be ignored.

Founded in 2010 by Jennifer-Crystal "Jen" Johnson, working with Broken Publications is a personable and unique experience. We offer services for a fee as well as non-exclusive contracts for a share of royalties. Because we use print on demand technology, we save on printing costs. Because we contract work to other telecommuting workers, we save on office space and utilities, not to mention the outrageous gas prices of today.
